American Loser (R)
Standing in front of an audience, Jeff Nichols (Sean William Scott) relives the day that motivated him to get sober. Jeff is an avid participant in various recovery meetings around New York City. In his “shares” he attempts to justify his problems citing a litany of real and self-diagnosed syndromes: ADD; assorted learning disabilities; Tourette's syndrome; and a balance problem. He's nearly 30 and dependent on his mother, Cynthia, and his stepfather, Dan, for financial support. He can't even keep his phone turned on.
At a meeting with his sponsee, Lenny, Jeff meets Lynn, a quirky, beautiful woman who is charmed by his funny and touching rant.
